The final podium.
Meade Kart Racing entered the final race of the season locked into the second points position. There was nothing Jared could do but enjoy his day because he did not have to worry about the points championship. The start of the first heat brought memories of race nine. Gallant started on the pole with Jared on the outside. Meade, Gallant and MacLeod left turn one three wide but Jared was able to win the drag race into turn three. Jared ran the next nine laps with MacLeod all over his rear bumper. The two were able to race each other hard and clean throughout the duration of the race. The side by side racing however allowed Ponce Rose to catch the leading duo. On the final lap, MacLeod was able to stuff the nose of his #5 kart beneath Meade who had to give way. Then seemingly out of nowhere, Rose was able to follow the #5 past Meade, Jared had no clue where he came from but either way, he had to settle for a third place finish.
Jared started the second heat in third place. Upon the start of the race, Jared pushed gallant into turn one to gain an advantage on the second place starter. Gallant then drifted wide on the exit of turn one and Jared pulled to the inside. Gallant nipped the grass on the outside of the turn and slid back across onto the track. Meade slammed into the side of the #8 and then launched into the air. Jared landed a few seconds later but was sitting across the track where he was t-boned by the #42 driven by Rose. Jared was able to drive away from the incident and move through the field. In the final laps the #43 was in second place but was too far behind MacLeod, the only driver who was spared in the first corner.
Jared had to start the final heat race in fourth. The field got bunched up in the first corner, Jared was able to thread his way through the field without incident but then #5 found a better line and took the lead. Jared was running in second, all over the rear bumper of the leader. Jared made a few pass attempts which lead to some very exciting side by side battles for the lead. The pair crossed the finish line side by side but Jared came up only a few inches short of the win
The MKR team started the final race of the season on the outside pole. Once again, the crowd was treated to an excellent race between Meade and MacLeod. But half way through the race Jared was just out of tires. Because this race had no point implications, the team put warn out, hard compound tires on the kart. The tires just did not last the entire twenty laps. Jared just kept the kart on the asphalt and brought the kart home in a second place finish
